Today the Government of Saskatchewan announced the delayed implementation of Tier 3 energy efficiency standards for new homes by one year to January 1, 2026. The SRHBA advocated for this extension in order to ensure that all home builders were adequately prepared to achieve the targets, while still being able to mitigate costs that would have directly impacted new home affordability. It’s important to note that new homes in Saskatchewan already meet high energy efficiency standards, offering homeowners reduced utility costs, greater comfort, and improved indoor air quality. Saskatchewan continues to be a leader in building homes that prioritize energy efficiency and sustainability, currently operating at a higher energy code tier than much of the country. This additional time allows the industry to further build on its strengths while continuing to deliver top-quality, energy-efficient homes for Saskatchewan homeowners. We are grateful to the Saskatchewan government for allowing the homebuilding industry the additional time to reach higher levels of energy efficiency and provide homeowner benefits well into the future! ... Safety, shelter, support. This is what housing provides. And, more housing is so needed. The YWCA Saskatoon turned away 4200 women and children last year because they just didn’t have the space. They do not know where they go. Please consider supporting the Hope Lives Here Campaign by purchasing a ticket on the She-Shed Lottery. Proceeds will go towards building new transitional housing at the YWCA, providing safe spaces for women and children in need. Winning the She-Shed would be amazing! And helping women and children in Saskatoon is definitely more amazing!🩷Thank you! ... See MoreSee Less
