The Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association works to continually improve the professionalism of the residential construction industry and all its employees through ongoing training and education.
The Certified Professional Home Builder Program is the only professional certification for home builders and is based on the National Education Benchmarks for Builders as recommended by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association.
This certification provides home building professionals with business and management skills that meet the industry’s demand and need for a higher standard. The certification also provides homebuyers with confidence that their investment and project is backed by third-party home warranty. The final outcome will be a recognized Canadian Home Builders’ Association designation that gives Certified Builders a highly competitive advantage in the market.
Participation in RenoMark® is OPTIONAL for Builder Members who also do renovation work. Builder Members who are in good standing that choose to purchase the licensing fee will be eligible to enter in the Renovations Categories for Housing Excellence Awards (local and national) and will have access to the RenoMark member benefits. Builders will only need to hold one membership and will receive benefits of both CPHB and CPRR (branding, assets, listing on renomark.ca and saskatoonhomebuilders.com) as a Certified Professional RenoMark® Renovator. Both the SRHBA and CHBA will require ALL RenoMark® Renovation Professionals to verify their commitments and professional status annually, through a similar form and verification tool, in an effort to provide consumers an up-to-date listing of all Renovation Professionals in the Saskatoon & Region. You will be invoiced the $500 licensing fee annually once participation is confirmed. For more information, please contact membership@saskatoonhomebuilders.com.
Home builder applicants must complete the first four certification modules (101-104) before their application will be considered for approval. This is to show your commitment to professional certification. All remaining courses must be completed within the first year of probationary membership. Tuition is $500 per module. Once your membership is approved, the tuition is reduced to $300 for all remaining modules, and a $200 discount per course is applied retroactively to previously purchased modules. On average, each module takes approximately 30 – 60 minutes to complete.
