The Housing Excellence Awards (previously Bridges Awards) are the highest honour bestowed by the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association. The awards celebrate the achievements of SRHBA Members that continue to advance the goals of the residential construction industry.
The competition is limited to SRHBA Members. Eligible participants can participate by completing an online submission form found on our Awards Platform . If you have participated in the National Awards competition previously you will recognize the system because it is the same platform. The deadline to complete your submissions is November 1st! Make note that CHBA National has a separate submission deadline for their awards program. In an effort to assist our members in gaining national recognition we have several awards with the same submission requirements as the national program.

Submission fees are non-refundable. Invoices will be issued following the submission deadline.
***Indicates National equivalent award categories. Submission questions for these categories mirror the National Awards for Housing Excellence equivalent categories to make applying for both awards less time consuming. Please note: you are not required to win or be a finalist at the local level to apply for a National Award.
1. Community Investment Award – Open to all members
The Community Investment Award recognizes the valuable contributions of our members working to improve communities through focused initiatives, volunteerism, and capacity building collaborations with other community groups.
2. Outstanding Customer Service Award – Open to all members
The Outstanding Customer Service Award recognizes an Individual Employed by a member who most consistently demonstrates and provides extraordinary customer service.
3. Environmental Stewardship – Open to non-builder members
The Environmental Stewardship Award recognizes a company for their commitment to environmentally sustainable operating practices.
4. Environmental Leadership in Housing – Builder members only
The Environmental Leadership in Housing Award recognizes a builder member for the construction of Energy Efficient homes (single or multifamily units.) This award will be judged based on initiatives taken that demonstrate environmental leadership in resource efficient housing.
5. New Home Salesperson of the Year – Builder members only
The New Home Salesperson of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding Individual Employed by a member in the sale of new homes.
6. Safety Stewardship Award – Open to non-builder members
The Safety Stewardship Award recognizes a member company for their commitment to safe work practices, safety innovation, and the development of a company culture dedicated to safety.
7. Safety Leadership in Housing – Builder members only
The Safety Leadership in Housing Award recognizes a builder for their leadership in developing a company culture dedicated to safety that spans from the office to the build sites. This award will be judged based on initiatives taken that demonstrate leadership in safe practices.
8. Best Brochure/Kit***
The Best Brochure/Kit Award recognizes excellence in a Brochure/Kit used by a member.
9. Best Digital Media Campaign***
The Best Digital Media Campaign Award recognizes excellence in non-website digital marketing activity by a member.
10. Best Print Ad***
The Best Print Ad Award recognize the best print ad by a home builder, developer or renovator (corporate or project specific) that was published in a newspaper or magazine. The entry is not limited to a specific size of ad.

New Home Sales Achievement Awards
The New Home Sales Achievement Awards will be presented to sales staff directly employed by an SRHBA Member in good standing. Builder representatives are responsible for submitting sales numbers for their sales team in our Awards Platform. Certificates will be presented to each sales representative that achieves the following levels in total annual sales:
Gold $15,000,000
Silver $7,000,000
Bronze $3,000,000
The Top Overall Sales Achievement submission will receive an award on an annual basis.
The submission deadline is January 4, 2019.
Sales volume is measured in terms of the total dollar value of new home sales for the
current Bridges Awards year (November 1, 2017 ‐ October 31, 2018). GST may not be
calculated in sales volume.
Ambassador of the Year (2 Awards) – Nominations Accepted. No Fee For Entry.
The Ambassador awards are presented to two individuals annually:
1) One award to a Builder Company Staff Member, Manager or Owner
2) One award to a Non-Builder Company Staff Member, Manager or Owner
The Ambassador Awards honour the legacy of those who create lasting change and measurable difference in our community, association, and the residential construction industry.
Customer Choice Awards (4 Awards – Participation Deadline is September 28th, 2018)
-The Customer Choice Awards recognize Builder Members who best deliver the assurance of quality in providing goods and/or services as judged by the customers. This category is presented by the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association through a partnership with Avid Ratings.

SRHBA Survey Announcement (2)
Four Awards will be presented for this category:
1. Single Family Small Volume Builder 0-5
2. Single Family Medium Volume Builder 6 – 46
3. Single Family Large Volume Builder 47+
4. Multi Family Builder 10+
Category eligibility is based on membership status at the time of award submission.
Participation Deadline is September 28th, 2018 for the Customer Choice Awards ONLY
Builder Members must submit details for all home closing that occurred between July 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018 to participate.” The current Awards year is defined as November 1, 2017 to October 31, 2018.
Why the Difference?
We have continued to use the Customer Choice Eligibility dates previously used by the Warranty Companies to ensure there was a smooth transition for eligible closings.
Renovator of the Year (1 Award)
This award recognizes a Renovator Member for their exemplary professional standards in the renovation industry. To be eligible for this award Renovator Members MUST have submissions in the following categories: Safety Stewardship, Environmental Stewardship, Any Two Renovation Awards. Companies who meet the eligibility criteria are automatically entered into the competition for Renovator of the Year. There is no fee for eligible members.
Home Builder of the Year (1 Award)
This award recognizes a Home Builder Member for their exemplary achievements in New Home Building, Community Investment, Safe Work Practices and Environmental Leadership. To be eligible for this award Home Builders MUST have submissions for the following awards: Community Investment Award, Environmental Leadership in Housing, Safety Leadership in Housing, a minimum of two submissions in the New Home & Multi Family Construction Award Category. Companies who meet the eligibility criteria are automatically entered into the competition for Home Builder of the Year. There is no fee for eligible members.
