Saskatoon, SK (May 13, 2019) – The Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association (SRHBA) is pleased to announce that they have won the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) Leadership Award for 2018 Home Builders’ Association of the Year, presented on Friday at the CHBA National Conference in Niagara Falls.

The HBA of the Year Award is intended “to recognize overall excellence by an HBA during 2018 in delivering a strong and positive voice for the housing industry, and in supporting the business success of members and their ability to provide affordability, quality and choice in housing for consumers.” There are over 60 local and provincial HBAs across Canada, all of whom were eligible to apply for the award.

Commitment to raising the Association’s community profile, dedication to education and the evolution of the Certified Professional Home Builder program, a revitalization of member engagement events, facilitation of dialogue among civic leaders, enhanced communications efforts, support for member businesses, and the SRHBA’s status as a “powerhouse when it came to government advocacy,” were all cited by the CHBA as reasons for choosing the SRHBA as the award recipient.

Both Board of Directors Chair Cam Skoropat of Lexis Homes, and SRHBA CEO Chris Guérette were present to accept the award. “These leadership awards can only be attained through teamwork. We are very fortunate to have a stellar team on both the operational and governance sides,” said Guérette of winning the award. This marks the second straight year that the SRHBA has received a national award for work done in the Saskatoon Region.
