Event Description:

A full day in-classroom workshop focused on the following topics:


Quality Control:

·The benefits of quality control,

· Consequences of an unsupported quality control program,

· Strategies to introduce and maintain quality control in your project,

· Quality Control/Quality Assurance from the ground up,

·The role of communication,

·The inspection process as part of the ongoing delivery of the work



· Know the details of your Contract(s) and Purchase Orders,

· Understand the values carried in the estimate as well as the Project Budget,

· Identify shop drawings, sample confirmation and mock-up dates on the Critical Path Schedule,

· Manage changes in the work set out in Requests for Information (RFI’s), Site Instructions (SI’s), Proposed Change Notices (PCN’s), Change Orders (CO’s) and Change Directives (CD’s)

·Communicate expectations to the team and track progress on a regular basis,

·Consider opportunities to apply ‘Outside of the Box’ thinking and LEAN principles to your project.


Project Close-Outs:

·Understand the differences between Owner Occupancy, Substantial Performance and Final Completion

·Setup and application of a procedure to ensure defendable documentation is in place to recover Trade Contractor back charges

·Discuss the contractual obligations of the team to satisfy the individual scope requirements at Occupancy, Substantial Performance and Final Completion

·Plan for the acquisition of the specified maintenance material, Owner training and other related Operating and Maintenance manual requirements fully understanding that not all Trade Contractors will be complete at the same time

·Identify the strategy on the management and responsibilities as it relates to Trade Damage

·Ensure that all Trade Contractors understand their obligation to provide as-built documentation and how to employ a strategy to ensure that the as-built information is relevant and accurate

Consider the requirements for the preparation of delay claims
