City of Saskatoon – Changes to Contractor Eligibility Criteria

Courses for SRHBA non-Members

By June 27, 2018, every contractor on Saskatoon Land’s Eligible Contractor list is required to complete mandatory training and safety education.  All new probationary applications must complete at least one of the mandatory training courses or the safety course before being allowed to purchase their first lot.

Safety Requirements include*

  • Leadership through Safety Excellence provided by the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association (SCSA)
  • Health and Safety for Supervisors and Managers provided by OH&S Canada Online
  • COR/SECOR Certification through the SCSA

The 7 required courses include*

  • Building Codes
  • Construction Technology
  • Legal Issues in Housing
  • Customer Service
  • Financial Planning & Management
  • Project Management & Supervision
  • Communications

*Other mandatory training and safety education may be considered, if approved by City of Saskatoon Land.
