Conrad Ehr New Chair of the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Saskatoon, SK (April 28, 2022) >> The Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association elected its new Executive at its Annual General Meeting and welcomed Conrad Ehr, President of Ehrenburg Homes as its Chair for a two-year term, succeeding Andrew Williams of North Prairie Developments.

Ehr commented, “I am very excited to chair the board over the next two years. The group of directors, staff and stakeholders of this industry are an amazing group that will drive the industry forward. I’m humbled to accept this leadership position, and I look forward to bringing continued success to our industry.

My focus will be to bring continued value to membership through a variety of activities, events as well as working with governments and stakeholders to advocate for affordability and a healthy residential construction industry.

I thank Andrew Williams for his past leadership within the Chair position. With his great dedication to the industry our association performed well during the pandemic, while positioning well the association for the future.”

Born and raised in Saskatoon, Ehr entered the home building industry in 1999, wherein he started working for his family’s locally owned company, Ehrenburg Homes. He earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree with a double major in Business and Finance, gaining the skills required for a senior leadership position at Ehrenburg. He was elected President in 2016.

Within the residential construction industry and association, Ehr is well known for his passion and dedication. Home building isn’t just a job or career for Conrad, it’s his passion. His dedication to quality, customer service, and to the residential construction industry make him a valued asset to the Association’s Board of Directors, where he’s served since 2017.

Conrad resides in Saskatoon with his wife Kim and their four children: Hunter, Lucas, Charlotte, and Sophie.

Silvia Martini, CEO (Interim) says of Ehr: “The Board and association are stewarded by an intelligent, critical thinker. It is a pleasure to work with Conrad, wherein he continuously demonstrates his commitment to best outcomes and stewardship of the organization.”

Saskatoon & Region Home Builders' Association

The voice of the residential construction industry in Saskatoon and region.

Safety, shelter, support. This is what housing provides. And, more housing is so needed. The YWCA Saskatoon turned away 4200 women and children last year because they just didn’t have the space. They do not know where they go. Please consider supporting the Hope Lives Here Campaign by purchasing a ticket on the She-Shed Lottery. Proceeds will go towards building new transitional housing at the YWCA, providing safe spaces for women and children in need. Winning the She-Shed would be amazing! And helping women and children in Saskatoon is definitely more amazing!🩷Thank you! ... See MoreSee Less

Saskatoon City Council unanimously approved zoning bylaw amendments to remove minimum off-street parking requirements city-wide at a Public Hearing held on Wednesday. Effective immediately, on-site parking requirements will be removed for all uses in all zoning districts. "Removing parking minimums is a step in the right direction. This will reduce costs and red-tape, and builders can proceed with projects that may not have 'penciled out' previously due to excessive minimum parking mandates" stated Nicole Burgess, SRHBA CEO."In most developments, on-site parking will still be provided, the consumer market will dictate that," says Burgess, "What we now have is the ability to 'right-size' parking in a way that makes sense. This will result in more housing units being built, more efficient land use and positively impact housing affordability across the continuum by not passing the costs of parking on to homeowners and renters."Bravo, Saskatoon! ...
